I am sitting in the living room on a wet and grey day, watching the new pale leaves of the medlar tree soak up the rain and grow before my eyes.
Yesterday was so hot I was sunbathing, today is so cold I am thinking of lighting the fire. I consider myself extremely lucky in this moment. I have so much to be grateful for.
I feel particularly blessed that I love painting. I don’t think about anything else when I paint, my mind empties itself of all it’s worries and becomes absorbed in the paint and the paper.
I have been having quite a bit of fun giving online demonstrations over the last month. Some on Face book that didn’t work so well. And the rest on my you tube channel. Which I think you can get by going into youtube and putting in Tessa Baker Paint Provence with Tess. We have iris and lilac and little yellow flowers in the garden at the moment. A tiny poppy here and there not enough to paint yet.
So if you have some paper, any paper and if you have paints, any paints why not make colour and joy.
Use your ipad why not. This last week we painted flowers and glass and this afternoon I shall start demonstrating landscapes, beginning with graduated washes.
I won’t say I will write tomorrow, but soon I hope
