Paint Provence was an amazing experience. Sort of like being in Heaven – surrounded by old friends with endless time to admire beautiful Provence, eat and drink to the full in the sparkling sunshine, and even paint a little (or a lot). As a beginner, I learned more from Tessa in the first morning than in the 6 week summer school course I’d taken previously. She is very talented and generous with her experience. She can provide encouragement and gentle direction, or equally, remain quiet and let you discover your own rhythms. I particularly valued her knowledge and skill with the colour palette; all those quinacridones and cadmiums! I hope I will be able to return one day. Thank you Tessa. Kind regards, Meredy.

The closest airport for International flights is Nice. I will endeavour to pick you up at the airport or have our chef pick you up.

Arrival Saturday afternoon, after 2pm Airport Nice

After 4 pm Train Station Les Arcs Draguignan.

Arrive at our Farm house in Provence for a rest before our evening meal and an introduction to our week ahead.

Late breakfast and a day of basic water colour techniques. We have lunch at home and will stop around 4 pm for a late afternoon walk or you can our local vineyard. Drinks before dinner at 7 pm.

Tourtour – a visit to this glorious medieval mountain top village with vast panoramic views. We paint the distant mountains in the morning and after a picnic lunch we paint the roof tops and the pretty church in the distance. You will learn colour, distance and perspective today.

Tuesday morning is market morning. Lorgues market happens to be one of the best markets in Provence and we spend a few hours there and have breakfast and coffee in one of the local cafes. This is a good moment to buy your loved ones little gifts. We go home for lunch and after some demonstrations you will paint a scene of your choice at our house. We will finish at 5pm in time for a walk and a rest before dinner.

Lets go To Saint Tropez for the day. Spring is a perfect time to paint in Saint Tropez. We spend the day painting the colourful fishing boats in the pretty port and have our picnic looking out over the sea. Before heading home we have ice creams and teas in the famous Place des Lices where no matter what the weather the locals are drinking pastic and playing boules.

The morning is spent at home going over our paintings and things you may have struggled with and want help with. Or just finishing paintings. After lunch we go on a magical trip to The Commanderie de Peyrassol full a Knights templar Vineyard and Sculpture Park a great place to visit and paint. Home in time for a break before dinner.

A ‘stay at home’ day and spend the day finishing paintings brushing up on the techniques you have learned during the week and having our own personal exhibition late afternoon with champagne and canopes before our last yummy dinner together.

We take you to the Airport or Train Station in the morning…

Paint Provence – LOVED IT!!

This was truly one of the best experiences of my life. Tess provided wonderful instruction and Provence a scenic backdrop. We had limitless choices to grab our interest; it was only of a matter of which view to select and put brush to water and paper. No mistakes were made only “brilliant” brush strokes from beginners and genius alike.

I can not thank Tess enough for the encouragement and believe I have found a friend for life.

Accommodations – The accommodations provided by David and Tess were wonderfully quaint and comfortable. Some may have described the scene as rustic, but it is traditional Provence in every sense. It was clean and well maintained. Set among vineyards and wild flowers – I had no problem finding a peaceful spot to sit, relax and breathe the fresh air.

I can’t wait to return.

Best regards, Sue
