Painting Holidays

in Charente

Welcome to Lime Tree House, owned by my friends Janet and Tom, it is an ideal home and getaway for a painting workshop especially away from the heat of the summer in Provence.
Visit their website: and see the grounds and the rooms, it really is very lovely, Janet is also a cook extra-ordinaire, so you are going to have great food whilst we are there.

Your Art Course in the Charente:

An Overview of the Week

Getting there:

There are two airports near Montembeouf the main one being Bordeaux the closest is Limoges. I can pick you up from either airport on the Saturday afternoon.

Pick up and back to Lime Tree house, relax, un pack, walks and drinks and a yummy dinner before retiring into one of their amazing bedrooms.

Sunday we concentrate on techniques and colour mixing. Composition and perspective it is a day for discovering the magic of watercolours. We will go for a lovely walk into the village and at at home today.

Anglouleme. I first visited Angouleme with my sister Charlie in 2010, and of course I stopped to paint there. We will start our day with a visit to the market. It is a beautiful place to paint. We will have out picnic lunch there and get back home in time for a rest, your own time and dinner.

Bordeaux is a must. We will spend the day painting here. There is so much choice I haven’t quite yet decided on our two venues.

Two towns in two days, We will paint at home today, the rolling hills, beautiful trees, maybe a horse or the house. There is plenty to paint here.

We can’t come to the Charente without visiting wine country and today we will visit Cognac. We will paint in the summer vines and have a wonderful picnic. Visit Chateaux and learn more about this wonderful region of France.

Morning we visit the beautiful town of Brantome. A perfect last place to paint. In the afternoon we will catch up on any unfinished paintings and go over our work from the week. A little exhibition and a glass of champagne followed by a yummy dinner.

Ever onwards back to the airport of train station.
