Art Materials to Bring

This list is only a suggestion, if you already paint and know what you want to bring, then bring the materials you are used to.

Paints: Good makes for paints are: Winsor and Newton. Vangogh. Old Holland. My preferred are Winsor and Newton Professional.Colours: Titanium White. Lemon Yellow. Cadmuim Yellow. Cadmium Orange. Alizeran Crimson. Permanent Rose. Camuim Red. Cobalt Blue. Ultramarine Blue. Manganese Blue. Cerulean Blue. Prussian Blue and Paynes Grey.

Art Paper  bring 1 sketch pad and 2 watercolour pads. 1 size 24 x 32 cm and 1 size 30 x 40

Canson for amateurs 24 x 32 cm and 30 x 40 cm. (This is less expensive but not as good as Arches) Arches Cold pressed rough 300 gms and 640 gms 24 x 32 and 30 x 40 cm

Pencils. Bring at least three pencils. HB. 2B and 4B

Paintbrushes: Makes. Raphael. Winsor and Newton. Petit Gris, Kolinskey. It is usally best to buy sable or petit gris water colour brushes for the round brushes. Sizes seem to vary country to country.

Round Brushes: Sizes 1, 2, 4 and 6

Flat brushes can be synthetic: Sizes 10. 18. 22

1 rigger brush

1 erasor, 1 pencil sharpner

I provide any extras you may need, or if you run out of any of your materials at cost price.

I also provide tables, chairs, easles, boards, water containers, mixing palettes, watercolour sponges, water sprays, baskets for carrying your materials and kitchen paper, so please don’t fill your suitcases with materials you don’t need to bring!
